Aftercare
Immediate Care
Do not shampoo, wet or exercise to the point of being very sweaty for 48 hours after application, as the bonds of your extensions need time to set/cure.
Leave some extra time for styling as you are now working with extra volume and longer hair.Β
Always Pre-Book your extension follows up & maintenance appointments.
Hair Extension Aftercare β‘
A little extra love at home goes a long way. Follow these simple tips to keep your extensions soft, beautiful and long-lasting.
β‘ Please Remember
NO conditioner, oils, masks, serums or leave-in products directly on your extension attachment points.
These products should only be applied to the mid-lengths and ends of your hair.
β‘ Brush With Love
- Brush gently 2β3 times daily with an extension-safe brush.
- Start at the ends and slowly work upward.
- Support your hair near the roots while brushing.
- Gently separate rows, beads or bonds with your fingers daily.
- Never aggressively pull or brush through attachment points.
β‘ Wash Gently
- Brush and detangle before washing.
- Use lukewarm water and a gentle sulphate-free shampoo.
- Gently cleanse your scalp without scrubbing, twisting or piling your hair up.
- Rinse extremely well around all rows and attachments.
- Apply conditioner to the mid-lengths and ends ONLY.
β‘ Products Matter
Extension hair loves moisture β but moisturizing products belong on the lengths and ends, NOT the attachments.
Never apply conditioner, oils, masks, serums or leave-ins directly to tapes, beads, bonds or weft attachment areas.
β‘ Dry & Style Safely
- Gently blot wet hair β never aggressively rub or twist.
- Completely dry your roots and attachment points.
- Always use heat protectant on the lengths before hot tools.
- Use low-to-medium heat whenever possible.
- Never apply direct high heat to tapes, beads, bonds or weft attachments.
β‘ Beauty Sleep
- Never sleep with wet or damp extensions.
- Brush gently before bed.
- Wear your hair in a loose braid or low ponytail.
- A silk or satin pillowcase can help reduce friction.
- Avoid tight hairstyles that constantly pull on your roots.
β‘ Workouts & Sweat
- Extensions and workouts are totally fine!
- Wear your hair in a comfortable braid or loose ponytail.
- Avoid extremely tight styles.
- After sweating, fully dry your roots and attachment areas.
- Avoid excessive dry shampoo and product buildup around your attachments.
β‘ Pool & Beach Days
- Brush and loosely braid your extensions before swimming.
- Wet the lengths with fresh water before swimming when possible.
- Rinse with fresh water as soon as possible afterward.
- Condition the lengths and ends only.
- Thoroughly dry all attachment points afterward.
β‘ Blonde Extension Care
- Blonde extensions can be more porous and require extra moisture.
- Use purple shampoo sparingly.
- Avoid bleaching or lightening your extensions at home.
- Speak with your stylist before colouring or toning.
- Hard water and pool minerals may cause dullness or discoloration.
β Sunscreen + Blonde Hair
Sunscreen transfer can cause blonde and light-coloured extensions to develop pink, peach or orange tones.
Whenever possible, choose a mineral-based sunscreen and be cautious with products containing Avobenzone or Octocrylene.
Allow sunscreen to fully dry before letting your extensions rest against your neck, shoulders or back.
Extension-Specific Care β‘
β‘ Maintenance Matters
Staying on schedule with maintenance helps protect both your extensions and your natural hair.
Never tighten, move up, remove or reinstall professional extensions yourself. Some trapped natural shedding during maintenance or removal is completely normal.
If you notice matting, slipping, pulling, unusual tangling or discomfort, please contact us as soon as possible.
β‘ The Golden Rules
Brush gently every day.
Keep your extensions hydrated.
Conditioner, oils, masks, serums & leave-ins = MID-LENGTHS + ENDS ONLY.
Never apply them directly to attachment points.
Avoid protein-heavy products, keratin boosters, bond builders and harsh sulphates.
Always use heat protection.
Never sleep with wet extensions.
Keep your roots and attachments completely dry.
Protect blonde extensions from sunscreen and mineral buildup.
Stay on schedule with your maintenance appointments.
Every head of hair is different β‘ Your stylist may provide additional recommendations based on your natural hair, lifestyle and extension method.

Sleeping
Sleeping with a silk pillowcase is a great way to prolong your extensions. It also feels great and helps prevent your hair from tangling while asleep.
When going to bed ensure you NEVER sleep with wet hair. Your hair should be dry before going to bed. A good habit is tying your hair up in a loose braid or ponytail before going to sleep to keep hair tangle free while sleeping.

Swimming with Extensions
Chlorine/salt water is never friendly for our hair, we donβt recommend getting your hair wet in in the ocean/pool. If entering a pool or salt water, we recommend soaking your hair with fresh water & to apply a leave-in conditioner from the mid to the ends. Put hair in a ponytail. Rinse & shampoo as soon as possible. No braids when swimming.

Styling your extensions
Always keep heat away from your extension bonds, especially for tape-in extensions. ALWAYS use thermal protection spray on your hair when using any heat tools near your hair. This is a good habit to keep your extensions in pristine condition. Heat is harmful to the overall longevity and look of your hair.
